Five County Run (and Bike Smash), Part 1

In North Central Indiana there are some
really nice areas to travel through. To give our members in Region One an
opportunity to see the countryside we have a little run called the Five County
Run. It has a shotgun start, no set route and ample time top get to all the
stops then to a party after words. This has been one of my favorite rides - as I
can pick the next stop and go any road (short cut or scenic if I want).
I started late this year. Decided to cut out some of the stops and take more of
a scenic trip. Oops, After my first stop in Elkhart County I headed to Marshall
County for a bite and my second stop. Never made it. An 80 plus year old woman
pulled out in front of me and totaled my bike! I know where my duty was -
getting the ride finished and a few more shots. After taking care of what I
needed to, to went to the finish location (Wise Guys), a little late, then
completed my task. Putt's New Grandson even won an award!!! I plan to be up and
going soon.

| The bike had been dumping gas on the road, I got several kids to help pick it up (so I could also get the camera out of the bag). The woman was in shock, big time, hoping she is better now. Everything is an insurance matter now. | |||||
