ABATE Day at MDA Camp, Part 1
June 8th 2008
MDA Camp has for years kept the opening
day for ABATE to show and spend sometime with the kids (getting wet). This year
was no exception. Right on time ABATE showed with over 80 bikes. That means 80
more water guns in the fight. Yep, the kids, their families and many of the
ABATE People have a water gun fight in the big field! There is also Wheelchair
Field Events; the bikers get to be judges (no, they don't get to use the chairs
too). The kids even had a chance to
go on a Motorcycle ride in a sidecar! It was all for fun and there
were gifts for the kids from ABATE too.
As dinner approached, a storm was coming. It was said to have strong winds, hail
and heavy thunderstorms. The kids all gathered in the Dinning Hall - while the
bikers chose to ride it out on the porch. The bikes were placed in the barn
(thankfully) and some under the Dinning Hall. We ended up only getting the tail
end of the storm right during dinner. Fairly good planning for us, be there...

We began gathering early at the school in
Wolcottville. Then, as a group, rode into the camp. The kids had
there ears to the ground waiting for us to show. |
